The only drawback with the Mico Max Plus is that it's not as simple to use as some other infant car seats. It's more difficult to get the seat in the right position and you need to work a bit more to tighten the straps. It's a little bit of learning curve to utilize the LATCH anchors and tether.
Overall the car seat has a very high safety rating. It's a top performer in our crash test, and it has very low g-forces on both the chest and head of the dummy.
This seat will not last as long as other models. According to CDC charts that your child will outgrow it around age three. It's not easy to raise them to age 5 in this seat. It has a maximum weight limit of 40lbs and one height adjustment. In the end you'll likely have to upgrade to a booster seat that has no back or a bigger seat.
